We are quite aware of the traditional on-campus based educational programs. Brick and mortar classrooms where both students and teachers have to be present in person and they get a chance to interact among themselves build up the right ambience for students to carry on their studies. Distance learning program is the opposite of the conventional educational programs. Students can avail such programs within the cool and comfy corners of homes. Schedules are quite flexible and that is the most appealing quotient for the students. Now, the number of students registering in distance learning programs is on constant rise. The major question is if such off-campus programs deserve to be substitute for the traditional mode of studies in days yet to come.

Before delving into the core of the discussion, it needs to dissect the pros and cons of both the educational programs. Education is not only regarded as the means of earning one’s bread and butter but also a key factor to earn dignity and respect from the others. Both the distance learning and conventional study programs are dedicated to serve the needs of the students to help them take up the challenges and live a dignified life on strength of education.

While the land based classrooms are doing its stint quite fine, the arena of education took a revolutionary turn with introduction of distance learning concept. It came into being with a zeal and appeal to the students. At first, it targeted the professionals who wanted to resume studies but could not shape their dreams into reality as it was not possible for them to quit regular jobs. They were averse to the idea of begging furlough to seek admission into regular institutes. Continuing studies in distance learning mode was more viable an option to them without compromising with their professional career for the sake of studies.

Slowly but steadily distance learning courses began to draw the attention of the others too. Students who could not make it to the top-tier institutes or pursue the courses of their preferences rap on the door of distance learning programs. With demand in high rise, such programs have updated their course curriculum to keep up with the industrial demand, tied up with many an institute to introduce the students to the international standard and also trying to provide the sufficient exposure to hands-on experience. To transcend the barriers of physical distance, online education as part of the unconventional programs have also been introduced.

A variety of courses come under the umbrella of online education program and you will glance through all of your needs and quench your queries by simply clicking the mouse.

Going by the theory of economics, no two products can be perfect substitutes in this world. The same is true for the distance learning and regular study programs. But it is undeniable that distance learning courses have successfully plugged the gap of excessive demand for availing higher education.
